Some months before the tech world were totally engaged with the news of Google’s acquisition of Motorola, famous mobile device manufacturer. We had observed the decision very precisely because Motorola wasn’t able to compete with rivals in Mobile Manufacturing field. And what we are aiming to is the final product of that acquisition. Motorola’s partnership with Intel Corporation has shown the sign of success by announcing the very first Intel inside Smartphone manufactured by Motorola, which is now a part of the great Google.
The Smartphone named ‘RAZR i’ was unveiled by the company at an event took place in London. As said before this Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Smartphone will be featuring a 2 Giga Hertz Single-Core processor by which the device can break the existing speed limit of current devices. The processor fame company also added that the Single Core processor will be very much faster than Dual Core phones. Anyhow let’s have a look on this brand new Smartphone.
Design and Layout
When considering the Design and layout. RAZR i resembles Motorola’s previous RAZR M. In other hands this device is an improved version of RAZR M which includes a powerful Intel Powered Processor inside. Motorola RAZR i consists of a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Display which is empowered by ‘edge-to-edge display technology that allows display with no virtual borders at all’ as mentioned by Motorola in a news release.
Making use of this technology, the device features a 960*540 pixel Screen Resolution and a thickness of 8.3 mm. The Smartphone includes an Aluminium frame and a Kevlar back panel as well. And this is a very good design combination as well. For more durability, the device is protected with a splash-guard covering which could protect the electrical boards of device from being wet.
There is needless to mention the performance because we’ve seen the presence of a 2 GHz Single-Core processor by Intel. When Intel’s words are assumed to be correct, the device will be enough to compete with Dual Core Mobile Devices in the market. Through announcing this device, Intel is making their way for the tight competition against ARM Chips that have been used in famous Smartphones such as iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S III. As we know, most of today’s smartphones are using dual core and quad core processors inside. But hope the Single Core processor by the Great Intel will be enough to make the device multi-functional through its performance.
We talked about performance and speed of the device. Being an essential factor of evaluating a device, Motorola has shown their efficiency in selection of battery as well. All the functions of the smartphones will be powered by a 2000mAh battery in order to provide a mixed usage time of 20 hours. This battery is 40% more powerful than that of iPhone 4S The device is having a 1 GB of RAM along with 8 GB on-board storage which can be expanded via Micro-SD Card.
The Android Smartphone has an 8 Megapixel rear Camera as well as a front facing VGA Camera. Using this camera, users can take upto 10 shots in one second. The device also features a 1080p HD video recording. In the camera section, there is also a multi-shot mode which allows you to take upto 10 photos in a time of 1 second. The Smartphone includes an illuminated sensor for better picture quality when there are problems with light. HDR capabilities of device will be favoring your photography.
The Smartphone includes Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology. Using that you can exchange contact information, links as well as maps via Android Beam between compatible mobile devices. Additionally, the device consists of Motorola’s own software customizations such as SMARTACTIONS hence to get quick access to notifications, weather forecast, time etc. The phone is currently running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich but the company states that users can upgrade to the brand new version of Android, Android Jelly Bean. But unlike from Motorola Razr M, the Phone lacks 4G LTE Support.
”Together with Intel, we’re redefining what people can expect from a mobile device. A camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load blazingly fast, and a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size and fit in hand. ‘RAZR i’ delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life,” Wicks, the senior vice president of Consumer Experience Design of Motorola Mobility added in his statement.
This device is expected to be launched on early October in United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico via the partnership with telecom carriers such as Orange, T-Mobile, Phones4U, Virgin Media and Tesco. Pricing of the device is not available yet.
So the whole tech world is waiting for Motorola RAZR i to be launched. Anyhow, it’s sure that RAZR i will be a stronger rival to all the existing Smartphones on the market.
