   We used to travel. Actually travel is the main reason of every improvement that has been acquired human beings. But this post is about NOW where domestic, national, international and inter-planet travels are available for us. Especially nowadays we have a wide range of technologies to help on all kinds of travels mentioned below. And this post is about international travels. Most of us are using different kinds of Gadgets everyday and the list includes Smartphones, Tablet PC’s, etc. Main feature of these entire gadgets is the portability and compactness of use. So that, you may’ve to carry your Smartphones or Tablet PCs in your travel in order to complete different purposes.

   So here, we are introducing some tips for you if you’re getting ready for an International journey soon with your Gadgets including Tablet PCs, laptops and Smartphones. If yours is a Tech/Science/Business related journey, you’ll have to keep some certain precautions for security and easiness of journey as well. It’s sure that these tips can offer you a better journey to abroad.

Remember International Plugs

    As you may’ve noticed, electrical sockets are different in different places you visit in the world. So if you want a good electric connection for your devices, you should carry right plugs for devices. Probably your Tablet PC and Smartphone will be able to tolerate battery consumption but the case of Laptop is entirely different because you may have to do some important works during your journey. There are some websites like PlugsMap which’ll provide useful information about different sockets.  You should remember to carry your USB Charger & Car charger with your bag because it can help you in charging your devices from Plane or airports.

Bye to Expensive Wireless Data Plans

   Even though the number of device you’re carrying is low, connectivity features have main importance in your list. And here is needless to say that your regular data plan can spoil your wallet in an international travel. So you’ll have to say bye to 3G, turn of notifications & push services. Actually, you’ll have to forget about your entire web world until you get a good deal for your data use. And what we say? Most of the people are afraid of International data plan for their devices.

  Reaching another nation and swapping between your phone’s SIM won’t be an easy task. So it’s better to get an International Data SIM Card for your device. If you want to spend some time on that place, you may get a local hotspot network or a specify data SIM for country itself. By the way, you can ask your current cellular service provider whether they’ve any partners in the country where you’ve planned to travel. If there is any, they can arrange an economy cost data plan for you in abroad.  One thing is sure that if you’re going with your current data plan, probably your pocket will be vanished.

If you’re giving more preference for reading stuff, you can use Apps like instapaper so that you can save websites to device to read later. You’re also able to save Music, Movies and EBooks for advance reading.

No data connection? Hey, get Offline GPS Maps

 GPS is included in most of device being unveiled on market. But what if you’re lacking a data connection in that country? So your GPS connectivity will be of no use at all. But being a geek, you’ve some other choices like saving the GPS Map of the location that you’re going to. Even if you’re lacking an internet connection, you’ll get better navigation features at that place too. You can use apps like Google Maps (already available in Android) Navfree etc.

Keep in touch with Travel and Tourist Websites

 Except from apps like Foursquare to get information about restaurants and bars in a new area, you can also grab some apps of Tourist companies for better facilities in that new place. If you’re not getting any applications, you can save some travel guides in device as PDF.

Don’t forget Wireless Peripherals

  Both good tablets and smartphones are now having a good keyboard and smoother touch effects. And so you’ll usually forget keyboard, mouse and other peripherals in order to decrease the weight of luggage. But you’ll do if you’re instructed to do an important work or to call someone on Skype? Even it can increase your luggage, it’s better to have your peripheral devices with you on travel.

Protection of Devices & Information

      Information has a great importance on life. If someone knows your bank details or credit card details, you may’ve to keep your life crying. Since most of the web services including net banking has acquired a face of mobility, protection of your devices and data handled by them is very important. So you should keep following steps for a better and secure Techy journey.

  • Keep devices near to your body
  • If possible, purchase insurance for your devices
  • Keep devices locked and it’s better to use a password lock instead of swiping. Keeping applications logged in is also risky nowadays
  • If you’re with a public Wi-Fi connection, don’t log into sensitive accounts from there.
  • Backup your whole data
  • Install Apps like ‘Find This iPad’ so that you can either find your device if it’s lost or delete data stored in that device.

 Hacker’s eyes will be watching you even if you’re on another nation. Here is some shocking news for you! If a technical minded hacker is there in an Airport having a portable card reader and if you’re carrying Passport or Credit card with RFID Chips your whole data will be stolen. In order to get rid of this bad use of technology, you can get a RFID blocking Passport protector for security. You can get this peripheral from place where you can see anti-theft systems and security goods. Keep your credit card and Passport in those protectors and your entire data will be almost safe. (We can’t assure complete protection still.)
