World Wide Web is really wide as its name mentions. With its wide services and features, today’s web is enough for developing a new world itself. We can’t even expect what are included in World Wide Web and in which amount of intensity those contents are useful for us. As you know, each and every intention in our world has acquired its bad form gradually even though a small amount of people are making use of that bad face. Anyhow, this theory is 100% correct in the case of Websites which have opened a vast world of information and smarter usage of it.

While exploring the World Wide Web regularly, you may have noticed one thing. There are a lot of bad websites which includes various types of abusive and objectionable contents. But the problem is even some popular websites displays idiotic social shortcuts and various comments in their slidebars. Since 99% of these are ridiculous and interfering your reading experience, most of you may be interested in wiping those contents out from the website for a clean and compact reading. Especially if you’re running with a slow internet connection, needless to say about how ridiculous those mentioned things are. Sadly, we may not be able to leave the website because of our needs.

But you don’t have to do it after reading this geeky article. We are introducing you a Google Chrome Extension which can wipe out unwanted content from websites hence to bring a cool reading experience. This extension is dubbed ‘Page Eraser.’ As its name says, Page Eraser can erase any content that are loaded in your Chrome Browser. What you have to do is just one click above the content which you need to remove. Anyhow let us have a look on that superb extension.

How To Use Page Eraser?

Just head to the page of Page Eraser in Chrome Web Store and install the extension on your Google Chrome web browser. After the installation process, an icon of an Eraser will be shown right to the address bar of Chrome. You can make a click on the icon and you’re cursor will turn into an eraser. You can hover over the content that should be removed and the content (column or section or button) will be highlighted. So you won’t need your eyes to zoom into the page. Just click on the highlighted space and the content will fade out and will disappear soon.

For example we will show how to use Page Eraser. Hope you’ve noticed the header image in HFG’s homepage. If you’re getting annoyed by the header while reading articles, (probably not at all) we will show you how to remove that content.

As you can see the content that you’ve hovered over is highlighted. And just put a click on it to let the content fade off from your browser window. Even though you’re visiting the website for next time, the deleted web element won’t be there (As you can see on the image shown below.)

Cached versions of a website can be controlled using this plug-in. And so you may need to hold CTRL key while reloading the website.

Oh My God! I’ve removed something valuable

I should mention this one here because I faced the same problem while I started using the extension. What will you do if you’ve removed more contents other than you need or if you need the removed content of that website? Well there is no need of getting upset because the extension has a smooth options page for it. You can right click on the icon of extension and select options for going to the options page of Page Eraser. And you’ll probably see a page like shown below

Page Eraser Options Remove Unwanted Web Elements Using Page Eraser

In this page you can remove erasers from wished websites. A list of website where you’ve used Page Eraser will be shown as list. You can select the appropriate website from where you would like to deny erasing effect of Page Eraser and hence retaining the hidden contents. There you can also set options about hovering effects, how you want the content to disappear and also to set whether you need to keep the actual structure of website rather than arranging contents fit to size.

Conclusion: Isn’t the extension cool? But the one and only problem that I found is non-functionality of undo features. So you need to head to options page if you want to undo what you’ve done on any website or web page. And this extension will only work if your Chrome is having version 20 or up. Anyhow it’s sure that the extension will really help you to make the web to have what you only need to watch.

As we become more digital our memories become digital too. All our images, files and music are saved on our PC and in most cases on our PC only. Users who are tech oriented may have back their files up to an external hard drive which is good but it doesn't have the benefits of an online backup service. Any user can take advantage of such a service assuring the that their sensitive information is never lost.
