We always talk about computers and its related activities along with introducing geeky stuff for you.  Although you need no introduction about what computers can do since it’s involved in all fields in our world. If we are giving a definition, Supercomputers are systems that can perform at the possible highest speed in computation platform. These devices can handle large amount of computations with highest speed, accuracy, and although perfection. Ability to manage huge databases is also an advantage of supercomputers.

Nowadays, technology field is very precious for each nation because they can’t improve with it. As a part of it, most of the countries have announced an open challenge about these mighty systems. And most of nations own a supercomputer too. So, if you want more than computers, you can get started with supercomputers with knowing them actually. Let us have a look on world’s top supercomputers which are located across the world but having the ability to hold whole world in just a click.

IBM Sequoia – United States

 Top Supercomputers Of World

IBM Sequoia is the fastest supercomputer till date with awesome performance about which you don’t need mentioning. IBM Sequoia is a petascale machine which is build under IBM’s Blue Gene/Q Architecture. Having about 1,572,864 processing cores and 2069 megaflops per watt, IBM is also apt for the title ‘Most Efficient Supercomputer as of now.’ IBM Built this awesome device first for National Nuclear Security Administration and further moved it to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2011. Now, this supercomputer is providing perfect solutions for complex and advanced of processing and problems. IBM Sequoia is using LINPACK performance. This device also runs on Linux based Operating System with 98,000 nodes running on Compute Node Linux.

Fujitsu K Computer – Japan

 Top Supercomputers Of World

Fujitsu K Computer was back from the top position in June 2012 just after the introduction of above mentioned IBM Sequoia. The supercomputer, located in Japan is manufactured by the very famous tech giant ‘Fujitsu.’ It’s a legend supercomputer because it was the one which reached a computer speed of over 8 petaflops and now, 10 petaflops. This computer runs on 705,024 cores along with a memory of 1,410,048 GB. Fujitsu K has got installed at RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science Campus, Kobe, Japan. Having 830 megaflops per watt, Fujitsu K is one of top and efficient supercomputer which is nicely running on Linux based Operating System.

IBM Mira – United States

 Top Supercomputers Of World

IBM Mira, another exhibition of IBM. This is also based on Blue Gene/Q Architecture of IBM. As being one of the most efficient supercomputer, IBM Mira has a great power at 8.16 petaflops and an energy efficiency of 2069 megaflops. A great working is ensured with its 786,432 cores. Mira is powered by Linux based Operating System. This supercomputer is located at Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago which is the first Science and Engineering National lab of United States.

SuperMUC – Germany

 Top Supercomputers Of World

SuperMUC is famous for its perfect architecture and also considered as the second German made supercomputer to complete this top list. This computer consists of 146,456 cores and built over a water cooled technology. This mighty computer is situated at Leibniz Rechenzentrum or Leibniz supercomputer centre near Munich. SuperMUC is used for academic purposed by universities across Munich. IBM’s SuperMUC can compute at 2.9 petaflops with Infiniband FDR which provides interconnection. This also works on Linux based Operating System.

Tianhe-1a

 Top Supercomputers Of World

This supercomputer is situated at National Supercomputing Centre in Tianjin, China. It’s the supercomputer from China to include in this list. It’s powered by 2.57 petaflops with 186,368 core Processors. This supercomputer is being used by NSC for researches, aircraft designing experiments, oil utilization and more. Having more than 229,376 GB, it’s also being least energy efficient supercomputer since it provides only 635 megaflops per watt. As other supercomputers, Tianhe-1a is also working on Linux based OS.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

Our technology is being expanded minute by minute and it’s very hard to find consistent things for better technology. So get your opinion about these supercomputers and let us know through comments. And one thing too, we can soon expect a supercomputer with superpowers but smaller in size. Starts hoping for it.

  • Understanding The Internet

Understanding the internet is the first step in becoming an expert user. there are many web technologies out there from responsive design to voip. One of the latest developments is the Ring Central internet fax, a service that uses voip technology enabling users to send an receive faxes from any PC or mobile device with internet access.

  • Backing it Up

As we become more digital our memories become digital too. All our images, files and music are saved on our PC and in most cases on our PC only. Users who are tech oriented may have back their files up to an external hard drive which is good but it doesn't have the benefits of an online backup service. Any user can take advantage of such a service assuring the that their sensitive information is never lost.
