0What’s your opinion about Facebook Apps? Whatever your opinion is, it’s sure that each and everyone will be using Facebook Apps for various purposes. I’m not sure about the case of mobile users and I used to not to engage with Facebook Apps. Even though not engaging in apps with a label, me and you are using a lot of Facebook apps every day. Every time you connect a browser plug-in or adding a mobile app / blog plug-in to your Facebook account, you are activating a specific Facebook app hence allowing it to access Facebook information or permitting it to post on behalf of you.
By the way, we are going to have a look on the features of Facebook app centre which is now available for all Facebook users. Through app centre, Facebook has opened a great platform to both timeline apps and mobile apps that available for global Facebook users. And as you may know, a lot of Facebook apps are available now and rest are under in development. Through App Centre, Facebook team has set up a central place for finding and start using awesome apps. And they have also included an nice categorization for apps where you can filter apps in a criteria based on your purpose. Anyway let us have a deeper look on Facebook App Centre.
Important Features of App Centre
Nowadays Facebook apps are large as to resemble World Wide Web so a thousand of apps are available related to Facebook. So Facebook app centre will probably work as a browser of that huge collection. Facebook team haven’t spread it in a big place but arranged it quite nicely in a single page. They have added a list of popular categories in the left side of App Centre page which includes games, news, photos etc. You can either filter Web Based Apps and Mobile Apps or view it in a whole mode. So you won’t be troubled by selecting a mobile app instead of web app.
Timeline Apps
Hope you have activated Facebook Timeline which is the new face of Facebook Profile. Some of my friends are very much interested in giving their timeline a nice look. If you do it also, you can call a lot of apps for help because a bunch of apps are available there in order to help you. Timeline Apps like Pinterest will show your activities in your Facebook timeline so you can get a social media integration through apps like this. And so App Centre includes a link on top right section which leads you to the collection of Timeline Apps.
There is a great collection in Web section. You can also find apps for interacting with your Facebook Account from other websites hence giving a global identity for you. Apps like The Guardian, Goodreads are examples.
Categorization
If the user isn’t familiar with apps but they need to start using awesome Facebook apps, there is a feature for you. Facebook have categorized apps in the basis of ratings, popularity and grows. So you can filter apps by criteria of ‘Top Rated’, ‘Trending’, and ‘Top Grossing.’
Suggested Apps & Friends’ Apps
While scrolling down, you can see two panes named ‘Suggested Apps’ and ‘Friend’s Apps’. The section ‘Suggested Apps’ shows a list of Facebook Apps that are suggested by your current apps. In the other hand ‘Friend’s Apps’ shows the list of apps that your friends are using.
More than Major Categories, some categories like games are further divided into subcategories. In the case of games, there are subcategories such as Adventure, Card Game, and Trivia etc.
Requests And Notifications
App Notifications and Invites are quite annoying me and I’ve often wished it’s better to wipe out Apps from Facebook. When it comes to the case of games, notifications are almost irritating. If you missed any of apps/games and want to see all of the app notifications/requests, Facebook has included a part ‘Requests’ where you can get a whole view of Facebook app notifications.
Recently Used Apps
They have also added another cool feature at App Centre. There is a ‘Recently Used Apps’ section right side of the windows which shows you all apps with which you’ve connected with Facebook Account inside or outside Facebook. It’s very good for security because you can check is there any unauthorized apps which can access your Facebook Account activities.
Rating
Popularity and Rating is also important in the case of Facebook Apps too. In Facebook App Centre, they have made it simple by giving each app a specific rating. You can see a score of Facebook app represented by 5 Stars and if you are hovering mouse over it, you can also get further rating on that Facebook App.
Facebook Mobile Integration
Facebook have added a deep integration with mobile via App Centre. If you like a Facebook App and would like to install it on your Mobile Device, you can do it right from Facebook App Centre. What you have to do is click on ‘Send To Mobile’ button in App description page. You have to connect your mobile device with Facebook Account for using this service or you’ll be asked to do so.
