Keyloggers : Some Tips To Protect Yourself
2Hi Geeks, let me share my thought to you. The worst thought while using your PC and Internet is that ‘You are Safe’. There are so many ways for tracking you and stealing your data and privacy. Hackers may use Keyloggers, Malwares, some special programmes etc. to steal your accounts and use it for unwanted purposes.
Now, let us take the case of Keyloggers. Keyloggers are malicious software which tracks our each typing in keyboard and hence stealing private data like Passwords. Keyloggers can get into your PC through various ways like visiting some malicious website or such that. Here we are sharing some security tips to protect ourselves from Keyloggers. Since the most valuable thing while browsing is security, we can’t assure that these tips will protect you from Keyloggers but it will decrease the chance for being tracked via Keyloggers.
Use A Firewall
A Keylogger is perfect if there is an Internet Connection because Keyloggers are sending the data through internet to manufacturer’s account/server. So a very close examination on networks and data transfer can reveal the presence of Keyloggers installed in our PC. But the bandwidth that is taken by recorded keystrokes is virtually undistinguishable in a broadband world. So, installing a Firewall can solve these types of problems.
Firewall is defense software which can provide more precise monitoring on PC activities more than as you do. So if a third party cum background programme (like Keyloggers) is trying to send data via internet, Firewall software will display a notification for asking permission. Some Firewalls including ZoneAlarm also provides an option of turning off inbound and outbound data completely and securely. It is not sure than a Firewall can completely secure your data logistics and secure privacy. But through a Firewall, you can surely catch most of threats.
Install A Password Manager
It is hard to manage your online passwords at this time. And no password is completely secure nowadays. So it is better to install and use a Password Manager for your privacy and security. And users won’t know that a Keyloggers is in your PC until you find that your Credit Card or Online Account is hijacked.
Password Managers are using a simple fact about Keyloggers. Keyloggers can only fetch your private data if you have typed it in a field. So a feature which adds passwords to the corresponding field (Commonly known as password remembering in Browsers) will help you in getting rid of Keyloggers. Most of web browsers are now including this feature in it. If you need this auto filling system installed on all over system, you may use one of reliable Password Managers.
Stay Updated
The one and only way to secure in the world of Computers and internet is to be active on security and its accessories. As a first part of it, you have to stay updated with new technology because there are several malicious softwares which use software vulnerabilities to inject Keyloggers to your system. These software includes your Anti-Virus, Adobe Flash etc. Recently, it had been reported that some websites are injecting insecure content to your PC through Adobe Flash Player vulnerabilities.
These types of problems are frequently seen in softwares too. Even Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X are affected by these problems and you should keep your softwares updated if you want a secure PC. So making sure that all of your softwares are up-to-date will surely promote your security.
Change Passwords Frequently
It is not safe to have same passwords over a long period. Continuous change of passwords will minimize the potential of Keyloggers attacks. There is nothing to say more. If you are changing your passwords in a week, stolen information will be of no use because there is no assurance that the hackers will use the stolen information immediately.

Even we have taken all these security tips, still it is confused about your security and misuse of your data. However, you can decrease your risk. Nowadays no softwares are able to give a 100% protection against activities including Keyloggers, hacking and Phishing. So whatever we do on web, we should have a secondary eye on it. Again saying, being active and careful is the one and only way for security for your content.
