Google’s “Nexus 7” Expected at End of June
1
It all started in December when Google Chairman Eric Schmidt said Google will introduce a tablet of “highest quality”. Everyone thought that they were planning to make a tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad. But then company changed its approach and decided to make a low budget tablet which can give a tough fight to Amazon’s very Successful 7 inch Kindle Fire. This was confirmed by an Asus representative who elected to be anonymous at recent Computex Taipei trade show.
Asus representative denied revealing any specifications but it is expected to be running on NVidia Tegra 3 (Kal-El) chipset with ULP GeForce GPU , quad- core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and a screen resolution of 1280×768. Also similar to all the Nexus releases Google is expected to introduce the latest Android OS “Jelly Bean” ( No official Version serial is given to this OS but it is rumored to be Android 4.1 ). A benchmark popped on Rightware almost confirming the news,

At CES 2012 Asus announced a 7 inch, NVidia Tegra 3 quad core processor tablet EEE pad Memo 370T but since then, Asus hasn’t said anything about its future. Rumor is Memo 370T was compromised for Nexus 7 and its body as well as most of its hardware will be identical to Nexus 7. With no announcement of iPhone 5 in WWDC 12 the year 2012 is expected to be dominated by Android.
Google’s latest Nexus 7 is expected to be unveiled at Google’s I/O developer Conference which takes place from June 27 to June 29. The price of Nexus 7 is expected to be between $150 to $250 giving a straight competition to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. But the interesting thing is Google is just going to unveil the Nexus tablet and it will be available in the market afterwards also Amazon is planning to launch Kindle Fire 2 somewhere in the end of Q3 or start of Q4 of 2012. So, Google’s first tablet can get into a dogfight with both of the Amazon’s tablets. It will be interesting to see when Google makes its tablet available in the market and it may very well decide the fate of Google’s Nexus 7.

I like these tablets war. It’s good to see some healthy competitions for Apple. The more of these the better as it’ll bring more options to users and no one is monopolizing the tablet market. Can’t wait to see what the Nexus 7 has to offer.
