Root HTC Explorer Android Smartphone

HTC Explorer users can now do much more than just finger talking as you can now start all the action with just rooting your device. In the due course of this article we will be checking out on how to Root your device so that you can make use of custom ROMs as well as other applications which needs the rooting access. Please be informed that once you root the device, the warranty will get lost and the only way with which you can regain the warranty is by applying the official firmware again.

Note: Please, note that after Rooting your HTC Explorer, the warranty of the device will be voided and you would have to re-install the Stock-Rom of the device in order to get the warranty back, so take a backup of your current ROM and then proceed further.

Caution: The steps which are included in this guide are very risky and can even brick off your mobile phone. Unless you are aware with Custom ROMS, Firmwares and ODIN, don’t even try these things on your mobile phone.

Pre-Requisites To Root Your HTC Explorer

  • The instructions are working for HTC Explorer, Originally manufactured.
  • Backup all of your SMS Messages, contacts and other valuable data because you will lose them during the Process
  • Take a backup of call logs, APN Settings, and other important things.
  • Make sure your Cell is Charged to minimum 80%, else Charge it.
  • As a Precaution, stop/ Deactivate all your Antivirus and Firewall on your PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode in your mobile phone (Settings > Applications >Development > USB Debugging).
  • Install all device drivers on your computer from the HTC Website.

Steps To Root HTC Explorer Android Phone Complete Guide

Step 1: you have to unlock the bootloader by following the steps in www.htcdev.com/bootloader
htc explorer isn´t listed as a working device yet but it has been tested and works perfectly. Choose “all other supported models” when selecting device.
Step 2: Now you need to add up a recovery to your phone so that you can install the Custom Rom firmware on your phone and for this you need to download A310E Recovery Zip file (Download link).

Step 3: Now extract the folder you have downloaded in the above step and Connect your phone with PC using the USB cable.

Step 4: Now open the Unzipped folder and there run the file named bat .

Step 5: After completing the above step you need to download the Superuser Zip file (Download Link) on your PC and copy it on your phone SD card after this disconnect your phone from the USB connection.

Step 6: Now on your phone turn on the USB debugging Mode by following the path Settings > Application > Development > USB debugging.

Step 7: Turn off your phone and enter it in the download mode by pressing holding the Volume + button and OK button and press the power on button. In case the device bootup in normal mode you need to reboot it in recovery mode.

Step 8: When, your mobile phone is booted in the Recovery Mode, You need to select “install zip from sd card” and then “choose zip from SD Card” and then choose the superuser package file which you had transferred earlier in your mobile phone. It will take some time to install that file in your mobile phone. Now, select “+++++Go Back++++” then “reboot system now“.

    i was not able to root htc explorer , htc explorer is not in the list in unlock bootloader which is very bad ,even the author dont test the process , just copy and paste from other website bullcrap. htc explorer phone manufactored after 9/11/2011 cant unlock the bootloader untill someday it come on list. think before you post any article

      U have to select all other devices at the end of the list at the boot loader menu! it works perfect..

    I have a problem with htc explorer… “My phone always shows the “name of the area” on my home screen” ….and i want to get rid of this because it always irritates me to use my phone…. please help me!!!

      this service is given by the mobile network(e.g in Pakistan telenor gives this service free)i think you have to contact your mobile network to solve this problem

    i cnt unlock my htc explorer from htcdev site.i follow all the procedure given in htcdev but at last in cmd it tells “device is waiting” cnt generate identifier code..any help

    For HTC-Explorer, you just have to reinstert the battery. Then, instead of starting your device regulary, you have to press the “Volume-Down”-Button and the Power-Button at the same time.

    Make sure, that HTC-Sync is installed on your computer (it delivers the phone driver, which is required).

    However…. This method does NOT longer work, because of different signatures of the Recovery Image. You need to find the newest one in order to process.
